Welcome
dear visitor on my website. I am glad you're here and taking the time.
Thank you.
Let me start with a few words about me.
As the youngest of seven, I grew up in a very musical family and enjoyed a solid education since I was a little kid. Furthermore, as a curious, adventurous, and meticulous autodidact, I was fortunate enough to have been able to learn from many wonderful people, experienced and renowned musicians, producers, composers and engineers.
From children's song albums and audiobooks to image films, advertising and game scores, as well as music for cinematic promotions (trailers), documentaries, series, and films — I love what I do, and every project entrusted to me is a lmatter of the heart.
For me it all started out being a live musician and studio nerd. I played and worked with bands of various styles before gravitating toward film music. And even today, I still occasionally leave the studio behind and play live — currently with an acoustic duo. This valuable building block, with it’s intense moments and energy, also contributes to the rich foundation that makes my music a lively and sensitive companion to your stories.
Everything in our lives tells a story. From the little tales I — like many parents — invented for my two sons before bedtime, from every tiny personal exchange to literary classics or bestsellers by famous authors.
So does every visual medium strive to tell a story. And whether short or long, personal, product-related, documentary, or fictional — we tell our stories, and we want to touch people with them.
Gore Verbinski (a.o. „Pirates of the Caribbean" / „The Ring“) once said: "A good film is like an airplane that you put on the runway, ready to go. But it's the music that makes the plane take off."
And that's precisely what I feel is my task: To empathize, to sense the vibe, the dramatic thread of your story, as well as the characters and their development, to immerse myself in it, and to make it all so intensely tangible through music that the audience becomes part of the world we created.
And on this journey, there's always this very important companion, this little Tinkerbell, who flies ahead like a "guiding light" — your vision of the story, the atmosphere, the energy, and the feeling you want to convey and touch with.
I’d be delighted if we could get to know each other soon over a coffee or a good cup of tea (...which, for me as a native northerner, tastes best with milk and a few pieces of rock candy...) and talk.
Showreel-Collage
If you want a quick overview - this collage is a bit more detailed than showreels usally are, but it provides a good insight into my work in a short time.
CHINESE Tv SERIES „Shan Zha Shu“
"Shan Zha Shu" ("The Red Tree"), also known as "Under the Hawthorn Tree" or "Hawthorn Tree Forever," tells a touching, dramatic, and true love story that unfolded during the Chinese Cultural Revolution between the late 1960s and mid-1970s.
Director Li Lu has staged China's most famous and beloved love story as a heartwarming and heartbreaking epic series for CCTV...with lyrical, touching, and epic images that, with their breath-taking grandeur, long dialogue-free sequences, and picturesque landscape shots, are at times reminiscent of David Lean.
The Story
Set to the series' "Sadness Theme" - written for solo violin, strings, woodwinds, harp, and a small children's choir, beautifully performed by Austrian violinist David Frühwirth - here's a brief summary of the story.
Storytelling Cut Long
and the adjacent "Storytelling Cut Short" are presentation compilations and provide a comprehensive overview. The slightly longer version delves deeper, but both versions offer a well-rounded, emotional and coherent view of this beautiful and dramatic story, and thus also of the score.
*** With short summaries of the dialogue before each scene, you experience the events in a way that's similar to how I experienced them when writing the score. Based purely on rough descriptions of the spoken word, I largely let expression, charisma, tone of voice, body language, and imagery — in other words, everything conveyed by the image and performance — guide me through the work on the score. A very exciting and valuable experience that I wouldn't want to miss. ***

Memories - Finale
is the approximately 6-minute conclusion, the finale of the series (without voiceover). Images that evoke many emotional and melancholy memories for protagonist Jing Qiu, kneeling at her friend's grave. "See you in my next life," is the line heard in the lyrics at the end...
...thank you Edi (Svoboda - Music Editor, Co-Producer, Co-Composer of Additional Music) for bringing me on board as a composer for this project. And thank you, Li Lu, for your trust...working on this score was a truly beautiful and intense journey that will stay with you forever...with touching images, with numerous long nights in the studio by candlelight, sandwiches, and hot coffee.
ARD TELENOVELA „Sturm der Liebe“

From seasons 7 to 17, I contributed to the success of Europe's best-known and most successful telenovela through my work as part of the composer team for "Sturm der Liebe" (Bavaria Media International).
Being watched all around the globe in more than 20 countries, the „Sturm" won the GERMAN TV AWARD for -Best Telenovela- in 2010 and the "EUROPEAN TV AWARD" for -Best Telenovela- and -Best Foreign Series- three times in a row: In 2012, 2013, and 2014 in Italy.
Thanks to Chris, Christof, Axel, Christian, Fugo, Bob, Fatih, Joshi and others for the wonderful and intense collaboration and friendly atmosphere over these many seasons and the countless minutes of music we had the chance to create together every day.
I ask for your understanding that my work for “Sturm der Liebe” can only be viewed or listened to via the ARD Mediathek, ARD Plus, Magenta, Amazon Prime, and others as part of the episodes.
CINEMATIC & Tv PROMOTION
In this audio player: excerpts from the work for Megatrax / Sound Adventures L.A., composed and produced in cinematic hybrid sound (live orchestra / sample orchestra / electronics) specifically for the "Trailer" segment.
Here's one of the cues from the adjacent audio player, complete with images. One cue was selected via Megatrax for one of the "Interstellar" trailers and was already used in the editing process. It wasn't until shortly before the campaign's launch that the decision was made to have something composed specifically for the trailer, which a composer took care of on-site in LA.
This process resulted in me being able to present the images from this trailer in a small format with my music (...there's a brief info about the music used in the campaign in the "Games & Something More..." section)..
...a young Hungarian studio orchestra that needed very few words, understood the music immediately, and performed with a personal dedication that swept us all along in the studio. Thanks to conductor Peter Pejtsik and the musicians for the fantastic experience and the intense moments in Studio D of Tom Tom Studios in Budapest, whose soundscape evokes the vibes of the legendary Bernard Herrmann scores.
Thank you Klaus (Strazicky - Co-producer, Engineer, Additional Music) for the friendly, intensive collaboration and your invaluable input on this and many other projects. And thanks to J.C., Timo, and Thomas from Megatrax and Sound Adventures for your trust and for making this project possible.
DOCUMENTATION / ADVERTISING / IMAGE FILMS
The around 20-minute film "Vision Accomplished“ was commissioned by ADCO Oil / Abu Dhabi and is based on a documentary style, illuminating the company's path against the background of the country's development. Moreover there is a selection of my advertising work, as well as product and image films (Bauscher, Gothaer & Goldhofer).
ADCO Abu Dhabi - Vision Accomplished / Documentation
Schlaraffia - Geltex / Advert

BAUSCHER Porcelain / Produktfilm - Imagefilm

Vision Accomplished ... I would have loved to have been there in Abu Dhabi, but director Martin Maria Leckert spoke so infectiously about the conditions there, the people, the culture, the atmosphere and the filming that while I was working on the score, I almost had the feeling that I was looking at some of the film's images as I was seeing a memory I had created myself and that I had somehow been there after all ... thank you Martin.
GAMES & SOME MORE…
Further pieces from the work for Megatrax & Sound Adventures / L.A., among others, can be heard in the following audio player.
A short excerpt from the first cue from this audio player – "Wonderous Island" – was used in the "Interstellar" campaign as part of one of the numerous making-of’s.
This player also includes music from the games "Azada" and "Azada - Ancient Magic" (Somatone Interactive / Emeryville - San Francisco), whose score was nominated for an audience award in the USA (see below).
Award Nominations
2025 Nomination „Grand Prix Eric Serra 2025“
Concours La Mer En Musique - Festival „Passion Mediterranèe" Cavalaire-sur-Mer / France
„Apnee En Grotte“ is a short film by Christian Petron, an absolute specialist in under water filming and photography. Amongst others he is known for his work with Luc Besson, James Cameron, National Geographic and for his documentaries about his dives to the Titanic.
Our time (i.e. to free divers out on an exploration) is in a small moment of "encounter" touched an inspired by the creations of the late stone age people, who in their sinplicity were so much closer to the essence of life than we are these days.
And if you pull back the imaginary philosophical camera even a bit more, this film shows, how everything is instantaniously connected in this wonderful creation, that we all have the privilege to live in.
2009 Nomination „Zeebys" Audience Award
„Soundtrack of the Year - Casual Games“ / USA
Feedbacks - Reviews
The collaboration with Paul and Scorenament Music on all projects was constructive and creative, always providing that certain „More“ and yielding something surprising beyond what we had briefed. This also led to a friendly relationship with Paul, which I greatly appreciate.
Thanks to his deep musical knowledge and creative instincts, his talent, his versatility and his capabilty of moving between styles, genres, and moods makes working with Paul a pleasurable expirience.
I love his professionalism, his collaborative spirit, his communicative nature and his respectful way towards everyone’s input. Working under extremely tight deadlines („Storm Of Love“) and / or exploring more experimental concepts - Paul brings a calm, friendly energy that makes the creative process smooth and enjoyable. His compositions are consistently inspired, emotionally resonant, and precisely tailored to the needs of each project. It’s rare to find someone who combines artistic sensitivity with such a solid, reliable work ethic.
Paul is an excellent colleague...and an amazingly nice guy, someone you’re always happy to have on the team. I’d highly recommend him for any project.
A pleasant person, precise in communication, creative and spot-on with the desired vibe, seemingly available around the clock during project phases – thank you, Paul. I look forward to working with you again.
Paul is a brilliant composer, delivering music that's both beautiful and perfectly attuned to the demands of picture. His natural musicality and sharp instinct for storytelling shine through every cue. Working with Paul is an absolute pleasure - he’s fun, easygoing, and brings laser-focused professionalism when it matters most.
Besides all self evident, Paul brought a pleasantly lively energy to our orchestral sessions, that lifted the whole team. Anyone lucky enough to collaborate with Paul will find their projects elevated by his creativity and his empathetic nature.
Working with Paul has been a wonderful experience. He is a versatile composer with great artistry and a clear musical vision, and yet he remains open to creative input. I had the pleasure of contributing to his composition by playing soprano and alto recorders, Celtic flute, and ocarinas. Paul’s openness and clarity throughout the creative process made collaboration smooth and rewarding. Thank you, Paul - and I look forward to more collaborations!
Thank you for stopping by.
I look forward to hearing from you. Until then, I wish you all the best and all of us warmth and harmony in our personal lives during these turbulent times.
